DESCRIPTION:The ninth installment of our virtual event series focuses on how racialized barriers to wealth accumulation deny families and communities long-term economic mobility and financial resiliency. Wealth is usually defined as the value of one’s assets minus debt\, and it serves as a critical component of economic opportunity in the United States. Opening speakers will examine past and present structures and institutions that contribute to persistent wealth disparities. A panel of practitioners\, scholars\, and community leaders will propose and discuss bold strategies to finally reverse these trends.
