SUMMARY:Rural Community Action Assembly: Reimagining Apprenticeship Models
DESCRIPTION:Apprenticeships can strengthen rural economies by equipping individuals with in-demand skills\, enabling workers to remain in their communities and support local businesses. This event will demonstrate how apprenticeships can fill workforce gaps in essential sectors such as healthcare and manufacturing\, which are vital to economic resilience and sustainable employment in rural regions. Attendees will gain insights from experts and practitioners on best practices and innovative partnerships that foster successful apprenticeship networks. \n\n\n\nSpeakers will include: \n\n\n\n\n\nJohn Colborn\, Executive Director\, Apprenticeships for America;\n\n\n\nEric Dunker\, Chief Engagement and Advancement Officer\, Reach University;\n\n\n\nTheresa Dunne\, Community Development Research Analyst\, Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia; and\n\n\n\nAlan Hack\, Assistant Executive Director\, Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit.\n\n\n\n\n\nWho should attend\n\n\n\nThis event is designed for rural economic or workforce development organizations\, chambers of commerce\, nonprofits working with low- and moderate-income communities\, and other rural decision-makers interested in inclusive workforce models. \n\n\n\nThe series is cohosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia and Penn State’s Center for Economic and Community Development. \n\n\n\nParticipation is free\, but registration is required. A video recording and presentations will be shared publicly afterward.
