August 19 @ 8:00 am – 10:00 am CDT

Have you met FRED®? Short for Federal Reserve Economic Data, FRED is an online database created and maintained by the Research Division at the St. Louis Fed. It consists of hundreds of thousands of economic data time series from scores of national, international, public and private sources. FRED goes beyond simply providing data: It helps users better understand data.
On Aug. 19, you’ll have a chance to get to know FRED during an interactive, hybrid presentation about everyone’s favorite economics data tool. Senior Economic Education Specialist and FRED Economics Champion Diego Mendez-Carbajo will give a brief history and overview of FRED, guide the audience on how to use the database, and answer any questions. Tim Lloyd of our Communications & Engagement Division will facilitate the Q&A.
This hybrid event is free and open to the public, but registration is required to attend. A complimentary breakfast and validated parking will be provided for in-person attendees. Virtual participants will receive detailed login instructions as the event date nears.
Joining us in person? Bring your laptop or tablet so you can follow along with our FRED demonstration.
