March 27 @ 10:00 am 11:30 am EDT

A robust rural workforce depends on accessible childcare that allows caregivers to participate in the labor market. Without reliable childcare, workers with children may have to leave the workforce, which can impact local labor shortages and economic mobility for families. Investing in childcare services creates jobs, encourages economic growth, and provides opportunities for young families to remain in their rural communities and thrive.

At this event, you will hear from subject matter experts and practitioners who will share strategies and best practices for supporting the local workforce through sustainable childcare services.

This event is for rural economic or workforce development organizations, policymakers and community leaders in rural regions, rural chambers of commerce, and current and potential childcare providers.

The Rural Community Action Assembly launched in 2020 to focus on actionable research and programmatic models that promote economic resilience and strengthen workforce development in rural Pennsylvania.

Participation is free, but registration is required. A video recording and event materials will be shared publicly after the session. Participants will have opportunities to engage with their peers, and all attendees will be encouraged to contribute to the conversation.
