Rocio Sanchez-Moyano is a senior researcher in Community Engagement and Analysis at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. In this role, she conducts research on the economic experiences of lower-income communities and informs community development stakeholders on promising practices related to economic opportunity. In particular, Rocio studies access to credit and financial services, with special attention to how lower-income consumers and communities participate in the financial system and how that impacts economic outcomes. At the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, she has conducted research on small business and mortgage lending and on Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs). She also considers how fintech may be impacting access to credit and financial health. Rocio’s previous research in urban planning brings a spatial lens to her current work on credit access.
